River Bank Filtration (RBF)

River Bank Filtration is an Alternative Treatment Technique of obtaining naturally filtrated ground water from aquifers that are hydraulically connected to river or lake. During riverbank filtration, surface water is subjected to a combination of physical, chemical and biological process such as filtration, dilution, adsorption, and biodegradation that can signifucantly improve the raw water quality. RBF is a low cost and efficient alternative water for drinking water application. This initiative has been awarded National Urban Water Award 2009 for good initiative.
